A perfectly weighted three-piece dispensing precision rock full of space and dynamics with a pysch groove that’s undercut by sharp guitar, and vocal lines that never settle for an obvious pattern. Their songs progress as unpredictably as jazz, but with hints of melody that never quite get lost in the rubble of breakdown. Big on the festival circuit, these guys are not to be missed! Free entry

Dan’s music is a wonderful blues ride from seriously upbeat, rocking and dancing blues to those real soulful ‘bring down the volume’ moments. Dan Sowerby performs a set of deep felt blues and his own original material, which draws on these vibes, melding them into a sound of his own. His slick slide guitar resonates that soulful blues sound; and intricately played folkier tunes, combine his influences, resulting in an intimate and exciting set of feeling songs which grip you with the passion he puts into his performance. As part of our Big Griffin Easter Weekender, M.O.D will be providing the live music on Saturday night, and we are reeeally looking forward to having them back!
M.O.D. are Rumbustious balkan inspired original folk.  Entirely acoustic, from the humble washboard and the throb of the double bass via the wheezing of the harmonium and the shriek of the clarinet.  With a chorus of voices telling tales of steam, soviet farming machinery and 1930s drag queens.  A ramshackle troupe of musicians, unafraid to fraternise with the audience, whipping them into a frenzy of folk and roll.
Music from 9pm and, as always, FREE ENTRY

The Griffin team are pleased to announce their biggest ever beer festival, due to be held over the first May Bank Holiday!

Spanning 5 days from the 1st May, the festival will be showcasing over 30 beers and ciders from some of the best breweries around the south and beyond.

Alongside great beer will be great music, with different acts, bands, DJs and line-ups booked for each day. From blues to bluegrass, funk to folk, there’ll be something for everyone to get moving to.

And what would a festival be without some fantastic nosh?! We’ll be cooking up a whole range of cuisines to line those beer bellies and tantalize your taste buds.

The day time affairs will be a very family friendly event, with facepainting, games and activities to keep the younger ones amused, as well as raffles, exhibitions and quizzes for the grown-ups to enjoy.

So get your score cards at the ready, get your drinking caps on, and get a bunch of pals together to come and enjoy a festival to launch the start of what is set to be, a great summer at The Griffin.
